Adjaye Associates design for the redevelopment of '70-73 Piccadilly' has been submitted for planning by developers Crosstree.
The proposal is to provide a new high quality mixed use building comprising hotel, residential and retail use.
The architecture draws upon the inspiring context and seeks to re-interpret the existing classical language of the street into an innovative contemporary building. Both scale and materiality have been carefully considered through the close analysis of the historical development of the locality. The facade modulation has been developed to retain rhythmic continuity with the streetscape whilst expressing its own programmatic mix.
The project's ambition is to create a class leading building which will prove a worthy addition to its unique setting and become ingrained within the heritage of the area in the years to come.
GMJ produced the planning images and TVIA documentation for application working in tandem with the architects, planning and client team.
